"Ten years ago, Madison Twp. officially merged into the city of Trotwood, creating the second largest city in Montgomery County. Voters had approved the merger commission during a November election three years prior, and as many celebrated the arrival of 1996, township residents and city residents celebrated a new city with 28 square miles and almost 30,000 people. Since then, city officials have worked to provide city services and lifestyle opportunities for Trotwood residents. During the past year, Trotwood residents have seen a new public high school open, new housing developments, including Moss Creek and Wolf Creek Estates, an influx of new businesses both retail and commercial."
